Dr. Maureen Cooper
DVM, MANZCVS small animal medicine, FANZCVS veterinary oncology

Dr Maureen Cooper is originally from Canada however she now proudly has dual citizenship with Australia.  She obtained her veterinary degree at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.  She completed a rotating small animal internship at Purdue University in Indiana, USA.

Dr Cooper then spent time in both general and referral practice in New York and later in Melbourne.  She completed her residency in Veterinary Oncology and then became a Fellow in the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Oncology in 2010. She is a registered specialist in Veterinary Oncology.

Given the deep human-animal bond, Dr Cooper feels passionate about providing complete cancer care for families who elect to treat their pet’s cancer.

Her other passions include AFL footy and being a mum of three kids.


Dr. Laura Brockley
BVSc, MANZCVS small animal medicine, FANZCVS veterinary oncology

Dr Laura Brockley is originally from country Victoria, and obtained her Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Melbourne.  She then worked in a variety of small animal and mixed practices in Victoria and the United Kingdom.  In 2009 she achieved membership of the Small Animal Medicine Chapter of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists and received the Chapter Award.

Laura completed an internship and residency in Veterinary Oncology in 2011. She became a Fellow in the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Oncology 2013.  She is a registered specialist in Veterinary Oncology.

Dr Brockley feels passionate about using evidence based medicine to provide compassionate cancer care to patients.

In her spare time she enjoys travelling, running and sharing good food and wine with family and friends.

Dr Selvi Jegatheeson

FullSizeRenderDr Selvi Jegatheeson completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree at the University of Melbourne in 2015.  After completing her veterinary degree, Selvi worked as a small animal veterinarian in Melbourne. Prior to entering the veterinary industry, Selvi worked in a human cancer research facility in New Zealand. Selvi is passionate about oncology, with a particular interest in the comparative aspects, and how pets with cancer can help inform research into human cancer.

Taye Gilligan

IMG_4682Taye joined VACC in April 2013.  Prior to this she attended La Trobe University, studying Animal and Veterinary Biosciences.  She has a thoroughbred horse called Jai and a Jack Russell called Molly at home.  She loves spending her time being a mum and spending time with her family!


Lauren Douma

img_5949Lauren joined VACC in October 2016. She is currently studying Animal and Veterinary Biosciences at La Trobe University. Lauren has a keen interest in animal behaviour. At home she has a Lagotto named Lexi and loves wildlife rescue.


Britt Ardito

Britt joined VACC in December 2016. She has completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. In her spare time Britt enjoys riding horses as well as keeping fit at the gym and playing tennis.


Ash Cattenazzi

Ash joined VACC in February 2017. She has completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and has been in the field for 6 years. In her spare time Ash loves to dance and ski. She has 3 lovely American Staffies; Boomer, Zima and Storm.
